Breaking & Entering

Silence claimed her broken mind,
The voices are telling her she can't always be this strong,
She hides in the solitude of her own numbness,
Focused an something, anything.
But they never go away,
They are breaking and entering.
Tears fall through closed eyes,
Drowning in the depths of sleep she can't escape.
She would rather die than go through this again,
Alcohol infused brain matter,
Pills coursing through her veins.
An all too familiar hand wraps tightly around her throat,
Don't scream, she begs her lungs not to scream.
His dark eyes dare her to release the unwanted air in her lungs.
She closes her eyes and see a demented picture,
A dark haired girl, with a gun to her temple.
"Please no." She asks knowing it's useless, she's been here too many times before.
He tightens his grip and kisses her neck.
The scream explodes from her chest as tears soak the sheets around her.
The cold steel of a knife connects with her skin and is dug in deep,
Another scream slips from her grip.
The knife bites deep and slow, dragging it's cold teeth down her side.
"Stop!" The pain is unbearable!
Dragging it across her hip bone, he sets it aside.
Finishing what he started.
Breaking and Entering.
The room turns to darkness and she prays she is dead,
But her eyes flutter open with tears down her face,
Another day.
Consumed by silence she goes to school, silent and scared.
The memories are breaking and entering.
