Hypocrite
To put ahead the other man,
Had always been my policy.
Easing their burdens
While I, being crushed by the world,
Has never bothered me.
All I need is an ear to listen,
And for lips to remain sealed,
This has always been my policy.
My happiness was never important.
Not to me.
I will completely obliterate it,
For the sake of the other man.
The fake smiles,
The quiet nights,
All the tears shed,
Are the marks of my burden.
Though I do not complain.
For to put ahead the other man.
Had always been my policy.
Even then,
When it had seemed to hurt the most,
I still tried,
To put ahead the other man.
Even now,
Though I can’t feel any longer,
My policy holds true.
This time though,
I can’t help but think,
Is what I am doing right?
I sweep the question from my mind.
Because to put ahead the other man,
Had always been my policy.
Had always been my policy.
Easing their burdens
While I, being crushed by the world,
Has never bothered me.
All I need is an ear to listen,
And for lips to remain sealed,
This has always been my policy.
My happiness was never important.
Not to me.
I will completely obliterate it,
For the sake of the other man.
The fake smiles,
The quiet nights,
All the tears shed,
Are the marks of my burden.
Though I do not complain.
For to put ahead the other man.
Had always been my policy.
Even then,
When it had seemed to hurt the most,
I still tried,
To put ahead the other man.
Even now,
Though I can’t feel any longer,
My policy holds true.
This time though,
I can’t help but think,
Is what I am doing right?
I sweep the question from my mind.
Because to put ahead the other man,
Had always been my policy.
