Cold & Dark

Cold and darkness go hand in hand,
like switchblades and tears.
It doesn't just go away,
nor can it be out ran.
Cold is blood shattering,
and darkness is heart stopping.
Together the two can put a stop to life.
As everything chills,
and darkness fills your mind,
your eyes,
and every inch of space surrounding you,
and before you know it,
you see the lights of Heaven,
coming towards you,
or the burning pits of Hell,
and you try to run, you try to escape,
but then you realize,
cold doesn't just go away,
until you wake up from the nightmare you live in.
