Why Can't They See?

Feather light brushes from the wind in my hair
Gentle caresses from people who really aren't there
The starlight is bright as i go on my way
And the trees softly whisper what they want to say

The grass is so green as it waves in the light
And the rivers currents reflect sparkly and bright
It splashes it's secrets as it flows down the stream
And the moon hears them from its traveling moonbeams

My bare feet take me onto the sand
I look out to the sea where there is no land
The small twisting river meets the big mighty sea
As i stand there they start to pound angrily

The trees are long gone and the river is black
Theres so much cement the grass can't grow back
The wind doesn't sing and the moonlight is gone
why can't people see what their doing is wrong?
