Prisoner to the Moon

The moon's shape is that of a crest
I lie my head upon your chest
I beg you not to go out tonight
Your bliss is giving others fright
I know the choice is not your own
The moon controls your body, your bones
Your arms shorten, your legs grow long
As does your ears, hair and tongue
Your teeth grow longer, shiny and sharp
And I really don't want to harp
But if you are seen, you could be killed
Then my life I'd have to rebuild
My love for you is so very strong
Though some would say it's very wrong
Make love to me before you leave
I pray to the Gods you are not deceived
Your warm body next to mine
Would be sweeter than the finest wine
After you leave, I hear your cry
As the moon changes your human mind
I pray once again that you're not deceived
Because you take my heart every time you leave.

I wrote this when I was fourteen, and although it seems simple to me, I'm still very proud of it <3
