House of Horrors

Nothing but black; light will smile and hide,
Laughter, like a knife, slices through the heart,
Stumbling forward, trembling hands slide,
Cold, slick ice walls trap, never split apart.

Sick, heavy sweet perfume lingers,
Rough floorboards sway, slowly, slowly, let go,
Reach out; scream, the hold slips through the fingers,
Voices, then a pink, yellow, blue light shining glow.

Fall back; be pushed to the light, closer, near,
The taps of heels on polished floor,
Voices, and the metallic, bitter, sugar taste of fear,
Rested hand on the brass, turn open the door.
Rushes of cold air like a thousand snows,
Black as death once again,
Voices, falling, falling, too many a scream flows,
Hit the floor, heat of fire, watch counts to ten.

Voices, crash in the mirror,
Wake up from fear.
