Hey Dad

Hey dad,
Guess i don't need to be
daddies little girl anymore,
but i'll always remember
all the games we used to play
together.
Games like chess, checkers,
cribbage, or puzzles.

I've always liked
how you'd sit down,
and listen to me playing piano.
And how, after every song,
you would tell me
that it was wonderful,
even if it wasn't.

I love how,
whenever i would read
a new poem to you,
you would smile at me,
and tell me i had a read talent.

I still remember,
singing songs in the car,
on the way to school.
And how memorized,
the track numbers,
of all of my songs.
I would ask you to replay them,
over and over again.

Well dad,
it's been longer then i thought,
time have changed,
me most of all.
But hey dad,
maybe I still want to be,
daddies little girl.
