Midnight

Midnight...
Everywhere, It's a mystery
The once blue skies now covered
With an infinite supply of black
Bringing more suspense, shadows
And surprises, to our world.

When Sparrows and pigeons
Cuddle together, snuggling up in their
Cosy warm nests, Sound asleep.
With only the occasional flap of a morepork
Or the distant hoot of an owl,
Breaking the silent serenity

When spikey hedgehogs and nosy possums
Shyly come out to play,
Gently sniffing and exploring the night-time world
Along with the many crickets and grass hoppers
Singing their songs, Making themselves heard
Chirr-up chirr-up chirr-up
An undying rhythm

When our proud, graceful moon rises into the sky,
Illuminating the creatures in a perfect tinge of white
Causing all living beings to gaze at her in awe
Before slyly dissapearing behind a dark cloud.
How innocent she is,
Yet so much power she holds.

When millions of magical twinkling stars
Force me to think of you once more
Causing me to sit here, every night
Searching through the skies, for a small possibility
That you might feel the same way.

Midnight...
The perfect time...
The perfect place..
To allow my silent tears to flow.
