Snowy Grave

Snow crunches,
A breeze blows,
I tighten my coat,
I turn my face,
From the cold wind,
I walk further,
New snow falling,
I stop,
I kneel in the snow,
I wipe the snow off,
Your cold metal plate,
My bare fingers trace,
Your name and dates,
I place new flowers,
I remove the dead,
My cheek is damp,
I wipe away the tears,
Years have passed,
Why do I still weep?
I stand,
Knees frozen,
"The date came,"
I breathe,
And watch my breath freeze,
"And you're still gone,
But I'm doing better,
Rest well,
Big Brother,
I love you,
Ryan."
The snow crunches,
As I leave the graveyard.
