The Blitz 1: It's Coming

I woke up, just another normal day,
go to school, do some chores, then time to play.
Until a military guard knocks at the door,
then demands that my Daddy must go to war.

With a sigh he agrees, and walks towards the car,
I stand at the doorstep, looking from afar.
Then I stared as my Daddy drives down the street,
and wonder what kind of fate he'll meet.

Next morn had broken and I hadn't slept,
for on my father, my mind was set.
I go downstairs to hear a radio show,
debating on how well the war will go.

I heard a voice been broadcasted then,
Sir Winston Churchill, my idol times ten.
He stated broadly, 'We will recieve no warning',
Oh, how tragic was that Sunday morning.

The power cut out and sirens wailed,
It seemed our plan of attack had failed.
Hiding under my bedsheets, one thought in my head,
'Pretty soon everyone will be dead..'

It's coming

It's coming

It's comin-
