Welcome To The Show

The light shines off my tattered violin,
Pull up the leggings, put on the heels
Pile on the makeup
So unlike my usual dark appearance,
Leave the chains and trench coat at home, my concert is tonight.
Speeding down the road-
Twirling fingers, wondering if you’ll be there
I always feel like you’re here though..
Slam the door
*click* *click* *click*
Running down the polished hallway
My long black dress flowing behind me
--I’m late
My friend smiles, proving his word to come
Only I wish it wasn’t him smiling in front of me..
The voices of the crowd are anxious
But not as nervous as me.
Ladies and Gentlemen!
Clapping and cheering echoes around the giant room as my heels click
*click* *click* *click*
I slowly walk across the bright lights
The sound is blurred, my panic attack raised
I think of his smile again
I wish I could search the crowd….
The songs begins as I fall into the memorized movement
I close my eyes…
The entire orchestra creating an energy that pulses around the room
We feel it
Swaying with emotion, I play with my heart-
Abruptly the last note rings around the room
The silent moment the world falls still.
The crowd stands up in a cheering applaud
I shyly stand up to bow as I look up slowly
There he is clapping,
My biggest fan
The reason I draw hearts on my hand
The reason I smile and laugh when I feel like crying
Who taught me that you’re never alone
For you,
I would stand on stage alone
All lights on me
Flushed with anxiety
All dolled up in a little dress
In front of millions..
Just for you <3
