We Lost Humanity

Lost in a world of hate and pain,
Trapped in our own despair.
How many had to die in vain?
Does the world even care?

Missed: all faith in humanity.
Caught in a web of lies.
Believing is insanity,
When they wear that disguise.

How can we live in a dead haze,
Hearts with the beat of a stone,
Unfueled by the life in the gaze
Of a child left alone?

When innocence is plain to see,
They say the light must die.
But it continues to live free:
Just look in a child's eye.
