Infinite Silence

The sun is setting over the horizon,
The orange and yellow,
Blending into a symphony of colours.
The ocean waves flowing into beyond,
A deep blue, like a blueberry.
The bridge groaning lowly,
It’s rails as straight as a ruler.
The boats levitating on liquid,
Like a bird in the air.
There’s a small man on the bridge,
Forever banished into solitude and silence.
He wants to scream out!
He wants to be heard!
But the man is in infinite silence.

The black robe he wears,
Draped on his body like woven silk.
The strange paleness on his skin,
Echoing creamed coffee.
His hands to his shaven head,
Bald and clean.
His mouth gaped open wide,
As if he wanted to gasp,
Or wanted to scream.
But no noise will ever come out.
For the man is in infinite silence.
