The Life of E

In math there are some numbers that never ever change
Made up by mathematicians who were quiet deranged
Seemingly working to make lives like yours and mine
Exceptionally hard during our math class time

Seems the mathematicians could think of nothing better
Than a simple name that’s only one letter
Not even an original one at that just plain old e
Which is even more common than the hepatitis b

Mathematicians thought of e in a very minor way
Some guy one day was like hey
In this logarithm I found a little something
It’s better than a Kentucky Fried Chicken Wing!

It was in fact a little something, function nearly
And it was important to math quiet clearly
Because it stuck around as an exponential function
But is it more important than a subordinate conjunction?

I may never know the answer to that question
But I know I have simply fail to mention
The seemingly most important part of e
Is two point seven one eight two eight one eight three

That is the end of the life of letter e
Maybe one day you’ll finally see
That all though mathematically important
E’s life is really like a California pitcher plant
