V-day 2012

another year
just a single day
who'd have thought it'd be this way
for me?
So use to spending it alone
so used to sadness and despare
not heart shaped candies and underwear!
you see?
this year is different
something new
not so strange or out of the blue
you know?
I didn't want anything big
asked for nothing at all
expecting nothing at all...
but was surprised
and I realize
that valenties day isn't supposed to be extravagant
it shouldn't break the bank
but is best shared with someone special
yea?
and it can be simple:
I don't need a dozen roses,
I don't need nice words,
I don't need a scented candle,
or a ring, or a song
I don't need anything, or any single one,
but you.
