Ghost

Faint fingers brush against my lips,
My eyes snap open.
No one is there.
A ghost hand rests against my cheek,
But I can't seem to grasp it.

His image blurs my vision
Translucent, but there,
Burning in my brain.
He sits in front of me,
Smiling like a fool in love.

I reach for him,
My hands pass through...
His smile faulters.

Tears prick my eyes,
As he reaches for me again.
"Don't be afraid" he says,
Whispering in my ear.

His ghost starts to fade,
As I call out for him to stay.
But he dissappears all the same.

Now alone,
I cry to myself,
Wondering when ill see him again.
"I love you" I say to no one...
