Tornado

Outside,
Twilight came upon us.
All was calm as the watercolor sky
Went through a metamorphosis
To pure black,
Sprinkled with luminous stars.
An ivory moon shone with the strength of millions.
Beautiful.

The moon that once stole the spotlight
Now was obstructed by angry clouds.
They lashed out against us
Showcasing their hatred openly
Like many in history.

A whirlwind came out of nowhere,
Uprooting trees and stealing cars
Taking our hopes and dreams with it.

The rain was a drizzle,
Which progressed to a downpour,
Drowning us all, killing some.

Why were the angels crying?
