Sing to the Sky

Now I do not go back to those grassy plains
There you will no longer find me
Where tombstones stand and under a great willow tree
You lay

No longer do I stoop down low to cry
Wipe away the tears and to my feet I rise
Tissues are not needed; my eyes
They’re dry

Someone has gone and turned your light off
But for you I still shine brighter than ever
More than usual, my love, for we're no longer together
It’s rough

Sing me a song and I’ll sing it back to you
What you gave me is given to only a few
My life moves on but I will make sure it remains true
To you

Here's a little something that I just came up with. It took me longer to write, getting everything to fit in the way I wanted. But I like it - what do you think?
I confess that I may have got a bit of inspiration from the song My Heart by Paramore. The chorus had been stuck in my head all week, hence this poem.
