To My Darling Dear

If I had but one phrase to speak,

It would be this to you, my darling dear;

You make my knees oh so weak,

And this love of ours I truly do revere.

So my darling dear be it ever so true,

That I would not dare love another.

My heart beats only for you,

Because of this I shall forsake every other.

Never has it crossed my mind to love like this,

But when I saw you I knew it would not be so.

And because of this love it is my dearest wish,

You forget all other women that do glow.

So my darling dear let us leave behind our grief,

For with you around I am just the opposite.

As if I have found a cure that causes me great relief,

Let us travel far away where our love is predominant.
