Daydreaming in the Dark

Dear Sleep,
It would be greatly appreciated if you’d let me happily weep. You always force them closed, my heavy lids. I know you do this to many kids, make them sleep in the midst of noise. I’d rather be awake with the other “lover-boys”. Can you keep me from making her smile? Or can I resist you for a while?
Sincerely, Cullan

Dear Cullan,
I am only keeping your face from growing sullen. Can you not thank me for taking you away? Or would you rather be claimed during the light of the day? I can stop all of those lovely dreams, since you insist that life’s better than it seems. I can keep you from talking in your slumberous state, and you will have no choice but to wait. Is this really what you want from me? Without me what would you be?
Best regards, Sleep

Dear Sleep,
I think that perhaps you’re in too deep. You can’t get me to join you in day or night, or give in to your useless plight! I will resist your power and sweet temptation. You have become the bane of me creation. You cannot make me close my eyes, and I can have Daydreams when I look at the skies. Dreams may not visit me when the world grows dark, but, in me, happiness has found its mark. I don’t need the dreams to fuel my hope, because Skype is all I need to cope. I don’t need you anymore so this is goodbye. So don’t try to get me back, there’s no asking why.
From, Someone you used to know.

Dear Newfound Stranger,
I would like to warn you of the danger. Daydreaming in the Dark may not be the wisest choice! Can you listen to your self conscious’s voice? Close those dying lids and rest your mind, life is not just something you can rewind. There will be no second chances in this deadly game. One wrong choice and things will never be the same. I am warning you for your own good. You should not ignore this, even if you could. Don’t say I didn’t warn you when things fall apart. What I do is not my job; it is more of an art.
Respectfully, Anonymous

Dear Mysterious Person,
We are sad to inform you that things will worsen. All mail sent to this location is not being read, I guess you could say that, to you, the intended receiver is dead. Not in a sense that they no longer draw breath, they have avoided the grasping claws of death. They no longer reply, no matter who sends. I feel bad for those who wish to make amends. You can try to find where this person has gone, the letters we reply to go on and on. Best of luck in your search for this stranger, for now all we have is the exchanger.
Best of luck, Daydreams
