Little Penny

Little penny,
Scratched and worn.

Little penny,
You're so torn.

Given away,
Dropped day to day.

Seemingly worthless,
And so unwanted.

Nobody see's this,
And now you're haunted.

A day goes by,
Left in rain.

Wishing you could die,
And swallowed by pain.

You've fallen on the street,
With no one to pick you up.

You just can't take the heat,
Now you've been driven over by a truck.

Little penny,
You're not worthless.

Even those big and heavy,
Without you, their value is less.

Little penny, don't you see?

Little girl, don't you see?

You're everything to me.
