Everyone has Flowered
all around me, girls I know
are glowing with an unmistakable light
it caresses their faces
it's the glint in their eyes
the flower in their womb; making life grow.
and a sneer crosses my lips
and there's question in my eyes
as to why; don't they use protection?
but that is hypocritical of me, for I know...
and I wonder...
if I'll be next...
all around me, people so close
tell me of the child they carry,
tell me of the financial situation they're in
and tell me that, they are frightened.
and I bite back the words I wish to say
I cover the feelings of sadness
because if it were me along that path
I'd rather not walk alone... for I wish not to know...
and I hope,
I will not be next...
welcome world, to the next baby boom.
are glowing with an unmistakable light

the flower in their womb; making life grow.
