Here We Go Again

So here I go again
Dreaming of words you've never said
And reading into signs
That were never broadcasted.

Annoyed and full of doubt
I let the words fill up my mouth
And let them fall away in sheets
Rather than let my feelings out.

Your eyes always meet mine
At the most inconvenient time,
And I turn away as pink
As if I'd committed a crime.

The faces that you make
Cause me to laugh so hard I shake
But you never really realize
The precautions that I take.

So I sit silently beside you
Hope that you somehow feel like I do
While I move thoughts to other things,
Think that someday, you'll notice me, too
