Live To Lie

I awoke and hoped to die,
forever will I live the lie.
The lies we inherit when we're born,
and from the truth we were once torn.

Lies fed to us by them.
Holding us up like a flowers stem.
But when the stem starts to break,
the world we know will surely quake.

Reality itself will begin to shatter,
along with everything we believed could matter.
Beauty, money, being the best,
perfection alone would put us to rest.

So the end will draw near,
we scream in fear.
In one day more will be shed in tears.
More than there has through all the years.
Now our last days made horrific,
I haven't even begun to get specific.

When we're minutes from annihilation,
we'll feel a rush of exhilaration.
Finally found, a great realization.

No matter how long we tried to wait.
Wherever we ran there was our fate.
Forever now,
never late.
