Tear Apart
There was a girl with a golden smile
She hoped that it would stay a while
But it would fade through pain and trial
As love tore her apart
For a man had grasped her heart of gold
Fed her lies of how they would grow old
And be together; lies, he told
He tore her love apart
That smile drifted, she built a wall
She couldn’t bear the pain at all
She always heard depression call
As she ripped her wrists apart
But it grew worse, she always cried
Saying, “I won't give up,” but she always lied
One night, it beat her, she finally died
As she blew her head apart
She hoped that it would stay a while
But it would fade through pain and trial
As love tore her apart
For a man had grasped her heart of gold
Fed her lies of how they would grow old
And be together; lies, he told
He tore her love apart
That smile drifted, she built a wall
She couldn’t bear the pain at all
She always heard depression call
As she ripped her wrists apart
But it grew worse, she always cried
Saying, “I won't give up,” but she always lied
One night, it beat her, she finally died
As she blew her head apart
