Mistakes

I force a smile onto my broken face,
Those memories I try so hard to forget,
Everyone sees a shimmering smile,
But inside a lasting feeling of regret,
At all the things I didn't say,
And all the things I didn't do,
With nothing but an empty heart,
And no one there to get me through,
Those shattering nightmares that always awoke,
The devil inside me screaming out,
With nothing to say but a tear falling down,
And with my bubble surrounding try to break out,
For you were my one true love,
You stopped the shadows from coming near,
You held me in those beautiful arms,
You stopped every last single tear,
But now you are gone like a wisp of smoke, 
And I am left alone without you,
Left with my scars at what I've done,
I may just die too
