Fall From Grace

She takes off in flight
on the wings of an angel
attempting to fly.

She dreams of pure bliss
a feeble hope that there's more
much more than she knows.

Just for a moment
a frail smile graces her lips
and she feels no pain.

A moment so brief
her freedom would not last long
on a one-way trip.

She opens her eyes
the pain a reality
her world crashes down.

Her life ended short
all because fallen angels
simply can not fly.
