Valentine's Day

How wicked a life of distance,
From the one closest to thy heart
But how benign to love a nuisance
And divine as if Venus plays her part

This day stolen by oceans and blood
Ours, yet given away to the meek
And the world shall Aphrodite flood
With her tears pouring down each cheek

The scarlet rings a dream of the past
A dream of skin, warmth and music
Shard of a memory that passed so fast
Though such bliss to never get me sick

Love greater than the seas that separate
Away and together we celebrate

Oh God. The memories these sonnets bring me. It's unbearable.
