The Sunlight Killed My Friend.

The Sunlight Killed My Friend.

We walked together,
Daylight’s harm,
With seething shadows,
Burned in our arm.

But what can I?
Can I save you?
Don’t close your eyes,
Or fade to blue.

I tried to say,
Why are you alone?
It’s awfully cold out,
Chilled to the bone.

Oh what of the help?
It never came,
Just me and the echoes,
Screaming your name.

So tell me sun,
Do you laugh now?
When we close our eyes,
There is no sound.
