They're Not Okay

Another day will pass her by,
And she'll refuse to ask for help.
She won't breakdown; she won't cry.
More secrets she'll refuse to tell.
She can't see pretty; she can't see strength.
She can only see her faults.
The stress bears down, affects her health.
She can't escape; she's trapped; she's caught.
She smiles some, just enough.
Enough to hide the pain.
But one day waters will get too rough.
She won't survive the rain
Alone.

In a seat just to her right,
A young girl laughs aloud.
She knows that she's a pretty sight.
She's humble but un-bowed.
She laughs to hide the tears and screams.
The world will never see them.
As for release, she has no means.
The light from her eyes goes dim.
It won't take much to make her break.
It's easy to cause her to snap.
For now, she just awaits the day.
She awaits the simple tap
That will send her over the edge.
