Not-so-secret Struggle

Her head is spinning ‘round and ‘round in endless circles,
She can’t seem to catch a break.

Her stomach is like the ocean;
Crashing hard against her insides.

The inner demons of her mind
Show her reasons to be terrified.

She’s loosing control with each
Sharp breath she takes.

She puts down the weapon;
Laying it across her full plate.

Nothing can go in.
That way, nothing can come out.

And when she cries,
Oh, that heart wrenching sound.

They try to understand her thoughts,
Her reasons.
Telling her to be “normal”.

The pills won’t work.
Any mind games can’t solve this.
A fear that is slowly dominating her life.
