Frayed Endings...

They pass everyday,
Once, twice, more,
Each time a recognition,
Of one another.

As the happy ones say,
The world slows,
They stare into each others eyes,
Understanding.

In silent acknowledgment,
They share all,
In that one look,
Stories are told.

Some notice,
And look puzzled for a moment,
It doesn't seem to make a difference,
They stare all the same.

Both too secretly ashamed,
To speak of what was silently said,
As neither intended,
To share all.

One day they may,
Exchange their current world,
For something else,
For each other.
