Spring

The snow never seems to melt
like the world seems as cold as you
But when the sun decides to shine,
and everything's prepared to start anew
I grip onto whatever I can find
letting the last of the blizzard pass
And when it's all said and done
Each ruin is more beautiful than the last

I venture to a new home,
not quite sure where to go -
So, I find comfort in a stranger
Who I soon get to know.
I grew up in a hundred ways
letting go of things I used to be
And I found something else to cling to
I found a part of me.

The rain may leave me cold and wet,
But I'm not as frigid as before.
And as the world starts to flourish,
It grows so that I'm much more.
