My Fairy

I fell asleep
On a summer's eve
To see a fairy
Greeting me
She took my hand
And we flew away
My worries of tomorrow
Were held at bay.

We flew through the fields
Of poppies and roses
And sang songs
With rhymeful proses
I felt my soul
Soar through the night
Lifted up
By fairy lights.

We flew through the land
In endless motion
Uninhibited
By senseless notions
And my fairy
Sweet and bold
Squeals with joy
As my wings unfold.

I disappeared
Into this world
With the dreams and hopes
Of little girls
Just let myself
Believe it's true
And when I return
It will be for you.
