Ana took me by surprise

She smiles through the day
Because she can't find what to say.

Her friends talk about their problems
and they wait for her.

She speaks out
"I don't have a problem in the world."

Her friends, naive and blind, believe her.
She smiles everyday. She gives wise advice.
Why would she have a problem in the world?

But they can't see that sad spark in her eye.
For she goes home, looks in the mirror and weeps.
She doesn't have to pretend she doesn't feel good.
She never does.

No one hears her silent cries.
No one sees her weeping.
No one cares to see behind her lies.

This is why she died.
And her gravestone bore the words
"Ana took me by surprise."
