Rise and Fall
Walls closing in
The ground rises
And you
Smile along the ride
But your efforts are none
And the floor you stand on
Is a hollow one
For when the earth propels you up
You achieve the height of the world
You are above, at the top
But where land meets the greatest height
You will find
The weight of the sky
Unable to lay it down
Yet bearing the pain
Of its mass on your shoulders
Then
You will sink to your knees
Begging for relief
Praying to be helped
But the world is deaf to your calls
Blind to your broken body
Further, farther
You soar continuously
Foundation of earth pushing you beyond
You have everything
And you have nothing
The event has killed you
Left your fragile ashes to fall from the heavens
And you
Are forgotten
The ground rises
And you
Smile along the ride
But your efforts are none
And the floor you stand on
Is a hollow one
For when the earth propels you up
You achieve the height of the world
You are above, at the top
But where land meets the greatest height
You will find
The weight of the sky
Unable to lay it down
Yet bearing the pain
Of its mass on your shoulders
Then
You will sink to your knees
Begging for relief
Praying to be helped
But the world is deaf to your calls
Blind to your broken body
Further, farther
You soar continuously
Foundation of earth pushing you beyond
You have everything
And you have nothing
The event has killed you
Left your fragile ashes to fall from the heavens
And you
Are forgotten
