Constellation

His eyelashes feel too heavy for his heart
At a time when his world's been torn apart
Her smile's like a constellation of Northern stars
Hidden behind eyelids, 'cause she's gone too far
All he wants is to gently recline
Sink in to a sleep so deep and benign
So thoughts of her can encircle his mind
Sweet reveries of their time entwined
Before she fled like the moon flees the sun
Before she decided their love was done
So his heart blindly aches as he sets himself down
Slips beneath murky waters to let himself drown
While his consciousness softly starts to cease
Her image accompanies him through the darkened peace.
