Shrinking.
I want to become so small
that I shrink into nothing
and become part of the universe
my atoms making the stars shine bright.
So invisible that the world cannot see me
I become a ghost among the living
my breath given to plants
to keep the grass green
and the shrubs living.
So small that I fit into a cupboard
so I can lock the door behind me
and stare up into the blackness
never to disturb or bother anyone again.
So tiny that I can lift off into the atmosphere
and punch holes in the clouds
so that the world erupts
with spring flowers and ponds.
So light that I glide through the water
and can settle on the sea floor
where I can decompose
and become part of the algae
that craves something to cling to and consume.
