Looking Back

We heard the whispered rumour
Starting the pain in our hearts
Until it grew bigger than the space between us
Eating away at our trust
Hoping for a better way of living
With a smile still intact on our faces
Hidden in our voices
Was the proof of all that was broken
The minds that created us disappeared
Leaving us behind to think for the first time
I see the regret hovering around us
But time went by quickly
Life continuing without us
And when they looked back they'd find us
Standing in the same spot where they had abandoned us
Impatiently waiting for the answers to our questions
Afraid of everything that changed and passed by like a heartbeat
Replaced by a new fear for every new challenge
And sitting at the end of each road
With a choice we knew we'd regret like everything else
Was the faces that haunted every step we'd taken
They made us a promise we couldn't ignore
We found we didn't fear it
Only the consequence of it broken
Strangers invading lives far to out of reach
They fell for every trap set up around them
And for the first time i tripped without you beside me
Believe me i never meant to lose you
So when the sun starts to rise again I'll go search for you
Without noticing all the feelings passing by
And the clock counting the time left for me to undo the wrong
I wont stop until your mirror familiar eyes
In the end will be staring back at me
with the smile i never forgot.
