Bites

I’m coming to let you reconcile with my stupidity
Personally, I just lost it
I lost so many qualities once I ‘grew up’
But never lost the idea that you’d stand by me
Not for love. But because that’s how life seems
You take a bite of the apple; you consume everything but the seeds
You see, I’m the piece that you don’t think about
Not the first bite, which tastes so crisp and forces your body towards another bite
I’m the 6th, the 7th, and the 8th.
I last for a while, but you carry your mind into another world
I’m only there for your growing need for appetite
To suit yourself until you gain a first bite of a new familiarity
Go on, taste me
I’ll always regain hopes for you, because I never leave do I?
The water constantly flows
The sun will rise again tomorrow.
I’ll simmer down and accept my unimportance
But you can’t deny your longing
