Watchu Talkin' Bout Willis

The first time I laid eyes on you,
I knew I had to have you.
Kissing the car,
Walking into the middle of the street with another one coming.
I ran to get to you; I had to.

Black, grey, white stripes.
Petite, skinny enough to see your bones.
Lighter than a feather.

I fed you; I gave you a place to live.
6 long years you spent with me, my beloved.
Slept by my side every night,
You were there to wake me up in the morning.

Bones began to spread in your fur again,
You wouldn’t eat and I didn’t know what to do
You were my every thing,
You couldn’t leave me.

You couldn’t walk anymore,
You couldn’t even get up.
You were going to be gone,
But I couldn’t let myself know that.

I woke up one morning,
And there you lay,
With your brothers on top of you
As if they were hiding you from me.

Tears ran down my face,
There you lay my love.
Resting in peace,
And I knew that’s where you belonged.

I love you.
I’ll never forget you.
I miss you, forever.

My cat's name that I lost was Willis, thus the title.
