If Walls Could Talk

If walls could talk
They’d spit all your bullshit back at you.
You’d be surprised at all the petty lies
You have to tell.
Because if could talk,
They’d lie to you, too.

There would be no need for paintings and poems
Because the walls would express them all.
They would sing and tell stories.
These walls,
They’d have all the stories in the world
To spread about you.

If walls could talk,
They’d scream right back
Because plaster and wood are not afraid of
Flesh and blood.
You can hit the walls
As much as you want
And you’d only hurt yourself.

Because if walls could talk,
They’d spit all your bullshit back at you.
And if walls could talk,
Maybe I could, too.
