My Feelings

How can I describe the feeling I hold
They're different than anythign before I've told
Not obsessive or smothered by every emotion
More like taking a sip from the sweetest love potion
I cannot say I long to have you near constantly
But I'm happy I can feel this and still be free
My feelings mean nothing written in words
They're more like the tweets of melodic songbirds
They're like the warm breeze making palm trees sway
They're more meaningful than anything I could say
They're pink cherry blossoms thickly drifting in the wind
They're as vast as the universe, unsure where to begin
They're the crimson sky as Helios dives into the sea
They're the winds sailing your vessel bringing you to me
They're the warm waves lapping my toes squishing in the sand
They're the echoing major chords resonating in a grand
They're the drying sheets and cooling pie of a New England home
They're the hand that helped me up when I thought I'd die alone
They're a book that has the climax in every single chapter
They're the jubilant shrieks of a baby's sweet laughter
They're the turtle who fears what's beyond the safety of its shell
They're the pathetic little Timmy that never escaped the well
They're the unborn child who is calmed by its mother's heart beat
They're the hope of the rescue of the glorious Trojan Fleet
They're the awe left by the stars burning in the night sky
They're like the bird who learns that she can soar ever so high
So, darling, just know I care for you and adore who you are
I may not love you, but you're still a shining star
