Broken Hearts

He stole my heart,
Then my kisses.
After that,
He took my wishes.

My innocence;
My all.
After that,
He let me fall.

Deeper and deeper,
Into the ground.
Crashing,
Burning,
Without a sound.

I hit the bottom,
Then looked up,
I saw him there,
Just smiling.

I screamed,
I pleaded,
But I couldn't reach the top.

He dropped a case towards me,
Inside lay a silver beauty.
A knife.
Is this really the price of love?

It carved it's powers into my skin,
Twisting and warping my soul within.
One last cut and my work would be complete,
After I lay the knife at my feet.

I waited and waited,
But he never came,
So I kept cutting and cutting,
Until I went insane.

Love is such a silly thing,
The pain, the nightmares, the horror it brings.
Next time,
Think before you break a heart,
It might take a while for them to build a new start.
