The Beholder

Shattered and Scattered is the mirror before the beholder
Where a hammer once kissed it
Because the beholder hated a reflection
The reflection it could never escape
No matter how many miles it walked
The reflection stayed there, preying on the beholder
Filling their head with mindless perceptions of perfection
Which, in the end were all lies
These lies were shown to the beholder by many
Claiming falsehood many times
But the beholder drowned in its stubborness
Claiming only misery for themselves
And in preparation for demise
Eventually, the beholder never reaches perception
And realizes that everything is much too much
Stands on a brilliant mahogany chair with a ceiling fan above
Beholder has no sense of family or friends, and they lost their true love
Due to the demonic lies within
Now, every day the Beholder hangs from that fan
The feet swaying back and forth
Beholder could never reach perfection
But at least no one really judges you when you're dead...
