Hope, Insignificance

Life is filled with gripe and sorrow,
And problems endlessly come and go.
Each day brings nonstop, aching stress,
And then, at night, we hardly rest.
Endless obstacles, mammoth anguish,
The bodkin runs deeper; our lives extinguish.

But try your hardest to keep a grin,
After all, it’s a vast realm we live in!

Compared to the astronomical scale of all things,
Our problems are miniscule, mere scratches and dings.
Stars combust and burn out, next to that we’re a blink.
Our whole lives a mere instant, a brief universal wink.
Whole worlds will collide, with entropy at wheel,
By now we’re departed; were humans ever real?

So the next time you’re feeling upset and alone,
Exasperated, ruined, chewed through to the bone,
Remember the insignificance, of which we consist,
And the stupendous phenomenon, that we even exist!

I hope this isn't too convoluted with astronomical nonsense...I'm a physics major ;).
