I know that you’re out there as I lay here so restless,
Unbearably lonely, upsettingly listless.
Your heart is most-troubled; your eyes, they grow weary,
Tremendously distanced, in thoughts you are near me.

I so yearn to hold you, in a tender embrace!
Provide endless solace, and share in your grace.
Comfort your mind when the world grows malignant,
Always waiting; arms open, with loving consent.

It saddens me deeply, to know that you’re blue,
A bird with clipped wings, that majestically flew.
Locked away in a cage, naught but thoughts can escape,
There’s no hope in your future, as your world loses shape.

But I beg of you, plead of you, don’t lose all hope,
Don’t throw in the towel, don’t hang up the rope!
For one day we’ll meet, and together we’ll stay.
Aging beautifully, blissful, to the end of all days!
