Summer

Filled with smiles neverending,
Imagination and pretending,
Days filled with the outside air,
No one's giving any cares.
Plane trips with a destination,
Always happy jubilation,
Bonfires with cuddling,
Later nights of huddling,
Freedom and our highest hopes,
Swinging into lakes by ropes!
Secret wishes under stars,
Singing loudly in the car,
Taking pictures in the park,
Staying out til after dark.
Kissing in the pouring rain,
Days that don't consist of pain.
This is what the summer holds--
Even when we're gray and old--
And we'll look forward to the days
Of the summer's carefree ways.
