Experiencing Nature
Standing in the rain,
Heavy drops fall.
A ten-thousand foot descent,
Concludes at my toes.
The skies reach out for me,
Longing to embrace my essence,
To elevate me to a higher plane!
Alas, a haunting thought plagues my mind.
Why do humans hide from the rain?
Have we really veered so far from our roots?
With great anguish, I accept the unfortunate truth.
Nothing more can be expected of man.
He builds barriers, seals himself off.
Oppressing the outstretched hand of Mother Nature,
He persecutes life itself.
Heavy drops fall.
A ten-thousand foot descent,
Concludes at my toes.
The skies reach out for me,
Longing to embrace my essence,
To elevate me to a higher plane!
Alas, a haunting thought plagues my mind.
Why do humans hide from the rain?
Have we really veered so far from our roots?
With great anguish, I accept the unfortunate truth.
Nothing more can be expected of man.
He builds barriers, seals himself off.
Oppressing the outstretched hand of Mother Nature,
He persecutes life itself.
