Our Blood

Green oceans
litter your eyes
over your shoulders
and between your toes
freckled with sand
and rocks and bone
the heart of a man
once lost to the world

The depth in your eyes
casts waves upon
my emptied soul
like the beaches
we have yet to visit
like the shore line
of our homelands

The starlight reflected
years of matured space
slightly on my tattered
forest home roof,
not yet a day over seven
not a day over eighteen

Planes over head zoom
through our arms
raised in anticipation
Very soon to feel the
rush of the turbulence
carrying us back to
where we all started
